Lafayette Regional Airport Terminal will soon have a new look on the outside. The Lafayette Airport Commission unanimously voted for the "Journey" design. The commission made their decisions after finding out which design the public preferred. There were more than 5,000 voters and the majority also favored the "Journey" design. It's a design that both voters and the commission agree is more suited for Lafayette. Lafayette Airport Commission Chair Valerie Garrett says they're glad the community was involved in the decision.

"So as we started the design process, the community was able to put their input from various leaders, from various people in the community, whether they were musicians or architects. They participated in telling the architects what they wanted the airport to represent," said Garrett.

The commission says they will be moving quickly to get the project off the ground.
