Vermilionville is bringing kids to the past with its annual Spring Celebration.

Organizers says the event is all about showing how the coming of Spring was celebrated in the past.

Kids were shown how to dye eggs, basket weaving, and pinwheel making.

They also got to paint eggs and play old time games.

“We’re coming around the time of the year when there are a lot of different celebrations that happen around different religious faiths so we are just trying to keep those Acadian, Creole, Native American cultural activities and celebrations alive.” said Melanie Harrington, Vermilionville Education Coordinator.
